Test Purpose

The CELPIP-General exam is for people who need to prove English skills for Canada PR, visas, job applications, and professional recognition. It is recognised by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and other organisations. The test focuses on everyday English communication. It includes tasks you might encounter in daily, social, and workplace contexts.

Test Sections

CELPIP evaluates English proficiency across four integrated language skills. All skills are tested in a single sitting.

• Listening- You listen to recordings and answer questions. This measures how well you understand spoken English.

• Reading- You read different texts and answer questions to show comprehension and meaning.

• Writing- You write responses to prompts like emails and surveys. Your grammar, clarity, and organisation are assessed.

• Speaking- You speak to on-screen prompts. Your fluency, pronunciation, and clear communication are scored.
